Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Experience of supporting teaching and learning within a classroom environment.
  • Delivering interventions for Key Stage 1 & 2 and SEN Unit (Maths, English, Handwriting, FLS, Toe By Toe) on a one to one and small group basis.
  • Liaised with outside agencies.
  • Delivered First Aid during break time and lunchtime daily. This involved keeping records safely and securely of pupils' injuries and informing teachers and contacting parents about any serious injuries.
  • Attending all staff meetings (on a weekly basis) and training.
  • Supported extra-curricular activities including Scrabble Club, Chess Club and Draughts Club.
  • Supported with refreshments during school fairs and other school events.
  • Was a member of the PTA.
  • Was a member of the ICT Curriculum team, which also included parents, the Head teacher, ICT Co-ordinator, ICT Specialist and pupils. This involved the safeguarding and welfare of children when using ICT and especially the Internet, which included the issues of copyright and safe Internet searches.
  • Reported back verbally and made informative notes for the class teacher and SEN Co-ordinator, so that we could evaluate the pupils' learning and progress.
  • Changing data tapes daily for the school network.
  • Maintaining and supporting staff and children with ICT equipment.
  • Liaising and setting up meetings with 
  • Set up and maintained over 300 iPads for the whole staff and pupils.
  • Assisted staff with the maintenance of their laptops.
  • Seconded to Witham St. Hughs Academy to help set up their iPads.
  • Covered for the ICT Specialist in her absence. This involved teaching parents and whole classes of pupils ICT skills.
  • Participated in the preparation of the classroom at the beginning and end of the day.
  • Prepared learning resources.
  • I also have experience with using the following computer software and technologies:

  • Graphics software (Photoshop, PSP, GIMP, Paint .NET, etc).
